Youth Bonfire and Lock-In Tuesday, November 24th 2009

On Tuesday, November 24th the youth will be having a bonfire and lock-in. The evening will start at Richard Hodges’ farm in Snow Creek for a bonfire and will convene to the church for an overnight lock-in. More details to come, or see Valerie for more information.

Annual Harvest Festival – October 31, 2009

We’ll have our annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 31 from 5:30-7:30. The theme this year is “Let Your Light Shine for Jesus.” This party is a Christian alternative for Halloween, so although we encourage kids to wear costumes, please keep them church-appropriate.

We want to offer our children both a physically and spiritually safe place so that they can celebrate Halloween at church instead of going trick-or-treating – doing both would essentially defeat the purpose.

Back-to-School Picnic – Sunday, October 11

The congregation is invited to bring picnic lunches up to Rocky Knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway(see below for directions) on Sunday, October 11 after church services.
We’ll be driving up there (carpooling welcome) for fellowship and to celebrate the Lord’s beautiful displays of color during the autumn season. Rain date will be October 18.

We usually have a back-to-school picnic at the recreation department but I thought I’d change it up a little this year. I’ll probably bring a football to throw around as there is a large grassy area, and maybe a couple of outdoor toys for younger kids.

Awana starts September Wednesday, September 9th!

It is that time of year again – time for Awana! This year’s program will begin on Wednesday, September 9th 2009 @ 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM. This program is designed for children ages 3 through 5th grade. There is also a program for older students that runs the same time.
