Fall in Franklin County brings a change in the color of the leaves, cooler nights, and the yearly ‘Lord’s Acre Sale’. Beginning in 1964 with just a handful of participants, the event now has nearly fifty churches of all denominations joining in the celebration. Currently held in the High School parking lot on the third Saturday in October, the ‘Lord’s Acre Sale’ offers congregations a chance to raise money for building projects, educational opportunities, missionary work, or other important church needs. After a year of planning and work, church members sell apple butter, quilts, crafts, woodworking projects, and other products produced by their talents.
